Managing Configuration Slots

Managing Configuration Slots

Configuration slots determine how many tunnels you can deploy. This article explains slot logic, upgrades, expiration behaviour, and multi-device allocation across EcoVPN's encrypted node fabric.

Viewing Slot Usage

Once authenticated at /client/sign-in.html, your dashboard will show:

  • Assigned slot count
  • Active config names and jurisdictions
  • Expiration status or regeneration windows

Config Slot Limits

Slot allocation is referral-tier dependent:

  • Tier 1: One active tunnel
  • Tier 2: Up to 5 configs across zones
  • Tier 3: Unlimited operator provisioning

Slot Expiry Behaviour

  • Inactive or expired configurations will auto-disable from device clients
  • They’ll appear greyed out in your dashboard
  • Regeneration requires sponsor action if trust lapses

Upgrading Slots

If you've reached your limit:

  • Navigate to Upgrade Tier within the dashboard
  • Request additional slots or move up access levels
  • Billing will reflect extra infrastructure provisioning

Slot Activity Audit

Use the Audit Logs tab to track tunnel activation, endpoint pings, and jurisdiction handshakes per slot - available to Tier 2+ users.

“Slots aren’t just access - they’re encrypted deployment permissions across the EcoVPN trust fabric.”
